STAR: Let's Discuss Student Growth Percentile

FOR STAR USERS

With the winter STAR screening well under way or completed, it’s a great time to remind you of Student Growth Percentiles (SGP). SGPs provide us with a data point that is different than proficiency. SGP compares a student’s growth to that of his or her academic peers nationwide who started at the same place in the same grade.

Typical growth ranges from an SPG of 35 to 65.

In the Renaissance Learning platform we identified the minimum Growth Expectations as an SGP of 35. Once testing is completed it would be a good practice to run both the Screening (proficiency) and Growth Report.

Stay tuned...During a January PD day, you will be shown how to view SGP in eduCLIMBER.
